bassbediener OPEN STUDIO Kraków    2019

experimental music project

The bassbediener OPEN STUDIO Kraków was held in Telkom Telos, a post-industrial building just outside the city center of Krakow (PL).

During two weeks, local musicians were invited to experiment with the 11.5 meter long strings of the bassbediener installation. In the second week, the newly built Longboardharp II completed the instruments of the OPEN STUDIO.

The OPEN STUDIO sessions culminated in a concert on September 15, 2019 with:

Piotr Barnakiewicz (guitar), Piotr Sobczak (vocals) and Jacek Dębski (drums).

The project was carried out as part of an artist-residency organized by Fundacja Wschód Sztuki with the financial support of the City of Krakow. Additional activities in frame of the residency included an artist talk and a solo exhibition in Art Agenda Nova Gallery (curated by Aleksandra Grzonkowska, Fundacja CHMURA).
